As of 2026, NDT Consultancy Services Inc.—an "ISO 9001-2015" certified vocational institute and consulting firm in Texas—is seeking dedicated NDT Assistants to support inspection operations and advance their careers in Nondestructive Testing.Job SummaryThe NDT Assistant (also known as a Level I Trainee) assists certified Level II and Level III technicians in performing non-invasive inspections on critical infrastructure, such as pipelines, pressure vessels, and structural steel. This role is a vital starting point for individuals seeking to gain the required on-the-job training (OJT) hours for professional certification.Primary Responsibilities
- Inspection Support: Assist technicians in conducting tests using methods such as Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT).
- Equipment Management: Set up, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment, ensuring all tools are ready for field or laboratory use.
- Site Preparation: Clean and prepare inspection surfaces (e.g., degrease or manually clean welds) and manage radiation safety areas during radiographic testing.
- Documentation: Record test data and assist in preparing detailed inspection reports for clients.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following radiation safety protocols.

- Education: A High school diploma or equivalent is required; a technical background or mechanical aptitude is highly desired.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift to 50–75 lbs, work in confined spaces, climb, and stand for long periods in various weather conditions.
- Schedule: Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime, as well as travel to various job sites.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to follow complex technical instructions accurately.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are typically required for field travel.
